Bartolomeu Dias and Vasco de Gama

The Vast Ocean In ancient times people thought different of the ocean. During these times they thought of boiling waters and man-eating sea monsters that were enough to terrify curios explorers. To top it all off they still thought the earth was flat so they thought they could fall off earth! Why do they need to explore the ocean? Well it's to find a new trade route from the west to the east. For 12 years this people have been trying to go around Africa but the fear of being burned alive in the equator has kept sailors from getting to their destination. Two explorers however were brave enough to sail the mysterious seas. Bartolomeu Dias and the Cape of Good Hope Bartolomeu Dias from Portugal was assigned in the 15th expedition. He passed the place where sailors returned back in fear. He didn't see any sea monsters and whirlpools nor did the equator burn them alive. The War of the Roses

The Rivalry The battle between the House of Lancaster  and the House of York was a long war that lasted from 1455 to 1485. The ruling groups fought over the crown of England. It was called the war of the Roses because the House of Lancaster uses a red rose in their coat of arms, while the House of York uses a white rose in their royal emblem. 1455; The Start of the War During this time the House of Lancaster is reigning England.
