Radiation

Radiation isn't all bad and dangerous. In fact it is everywhere! It causes the sun to shine and you're looking at it right now! There are many types of radiation but let's talk about two for now. These are nuclear and electromagnetic radiation.

Nuclear Radiation

Nuclear or particle radiation all starts with an isotope. An isotope is an unstable atom nuclei. It emits radiation to keep itself stable. It emits 3 types of things. An alpha particle, beta particle, and gamma particle. Alpha particles are heavy and can't penetrate things. Beta particles are lighter and could penetrate things. Gamma rays are waves and could go the farthest.

Electromagnetic Radiation

Electromagnetic radiation are simply waves. They are listed in the electromagnetic spectrum. Some waves are harmless like microwave and radio waves. While others could be harmful like UV or gamma rays. We call the harmless ones non-ionizing and the harmful ones ionizing. This type of radiation is part of our lives, the lights we see is radiation. It is also used to do x-rays.

Harmful Effects

Radiation is also dangerous. Here are a few things radiation can do to you.
Could give you radiation poisoning.
Genetic mutations.
Diseases such as cancer.
Could damage your DNA.
To help avoid these things limit your exposure to sunlight. Also use sunscreen when going to the beach. This is because of UV lights the sun emits.

Helpful Stuff 

Radiation is also helpful. Here are a few things about radiation.
Light is radiation.
Radiation gives you a tan.
Radiation creates x-rays.
Radiation helps send e-mails.

A Fun Vacation in a Great Island: Cannonball!

This day is my favorite day of them all! We went to two islands! The first one was called Starfish island the second is Luli island. Starfish island we didn't stay there for long but we sure did see a cool sand castle. We also played some real life Pokémon, a game we created! Want to get to the end and defeat the ender dragon. Find some suplies in the end city. Fight some endermen to get more ender pearls. Well, now you can! I will teach you how to get to the end! An item farm is a machine that is used to get different and cool stuff. This item farm is very easy and may be used to get arrows, iron, armor, or even weapons! Today I am going to tell you how to make an easy to make item farm. First, make a big room about 10 by 10. In the center of the room dig a hole that will kill mobs. In the hole put droppers and chests below. Put dispensers that shoot snowballs or just water so that the mobs will get knocked in the hole. If you're going to spawn in zombies or skeletons make a roof. If you put dispensers connect all of with redstone. Put a lever so that you'll activate the dispensers.
