How Twins are Born

Twins are people born at the same time. There are two types of twins-fraternal and identical. They are  made in different ways.

Fraternal Twins

Usually people like to think of twins to be looking the same, but fraternal twins unlike identical twins doesn't look the same. Two eggs are fertilized by different sperm. Identical twins are made in a different way.

Identical Twins

Identical twins happen when a sperm fertilizes the egg and the egg splits into two. Since the twins came from the same egg and fertilized by the same sperm they have same DNA making them look the same.

In some cases triplets, quadruplets, and even quintiplets are born.
